A birthday trip to Exeter Museum became much more than a visit to see a Grayson Perry exhibition. Through monumental tapestries, intricate etchings and extraordinary use of colour, I was reminded how creativity often begins with curiosity and the simple act of looking a little closer.

A creative day spent at Hauser & Wirth Somerset with fellow designer Hazel proved to be the perfect source of inspiration. From sculpture-filled gardens and sunshine-filled conversations to Angel Otero's powerful exhibition Agua Salada, this visit explored the connections between memory, materiality, art and the spaces we inhabit. A reminder of why stepping away from projects can sometimes be the most valuable creative exercise of all.
